TEXTILES – GUIDEBOOK 2020

Donating textiles is about more than decluttering your space.

At Pitt Meadows Recycling – Bottle & Return It depot, in partnership with Vancouver Donations and Moms Canada’s your contributions make a real impact:

Support Local Families

Donated clothing and textiles are distributed to families in need across Canada, providing essential items for moms and children. A single act of kindness can transform lives.

Promote Sustainability

Items unsuitable for direct use are sent to fabric recycling programs to ensure they’re repurposed responsibly. By donating to our clothing donation bins, you’re helping reduce textile waste in landfills and protecting the environment.

Empower Communities

Proceeds from recycling and donations fund critical programs that provide housing, food, and other resources to families in need. Your contribution directly supports stronger, healthier communities.

Every Donation Matters

Whether it’s gently used clothing or torn and worn-out fabrics, every item has a purpose. By dropping off your old clothes at a clothing donation bin near me, you’re helping families in need and contributing to a greener planet.

Available 24/7

Our donate bins are open day and night, making it easy to drop off items whenever it suits you.

What Happens to Your Donation?

After you drop off your textiles at one of our clothing donation bins, here’s what we do:

  1. Sorting: Items are carefully inspected and sorted. Usable clothing is redirected to families in need through our charitable programs.
  2. Recycling: Torn or unwearable textiles are sent to specialized facilities for fabric recycling, where they are repurposed into new materials like industrial rags or insulation.
  3. Funding Programs: Any proceeds from recycling support Moms Canada’s initiatives, including food assistance, housing support, and emergency relief for families.

Learn more about our process on Moms Canada’s website.
